How is 24/7 In-Home treatment different to inpatient rehab services?

24/7 In-Home addiction treatment does not remove the client from their usual environment but instead offers a complete, one-on-one recovery program amidst the reality of day-to-day life.
It is a more personal, more intense yet highly flexible alternative allowing clients to continue both personal and professional life when receiving ongoing treatment.

Can I combine rehab and 24/7 In-Home treatment?

Yes, on-location treatment can be provided for at any stage during the recovery process.
Whether you wish to initiate your recovery at home, have relapsed or feel you are in need of additional treatment and support when leaving the safety of a rehab facility, Sensum 24/7 In-Home can accommodate each client and their specific therapeutic and personal needs.

Will a therapist stay at our home?

To offer, each client the round-the-clock treatment and support needed, it is most effective for an addiction specialist to stay at your home while receiving treatment.
Alternatively, a location nearby could be arranged. This option, however, depends on the clinical assessment and travel logistics.

How long does treatment take?

The period 24/7 In-Home treatment is provided varies from one to six weeks. This one-on-one approach, however, is highly flexible and can incorporate intermediate stages between treatment and change schedule according to the client’s progress.

Is there a waiting period?

As we treat only one client at a time when providing our 24/7 In-Home services, there may be times that we cannot admit a client at short notice. However, normally we can initiate treatment within a week or less.

Does 24/7 In-Home treatment have to be at home?

No, if the client prefers to receive treatment at a different location or needs to travel, then we can adapt accordingly. We do however recommend receiving some treatment at home to ensure the best possible outcome.

Can I continue my education / professional and personal life during treatment?

Yes, one of the benefits of a 24/7 home-based addiction recovery is flexibility. We will do our utmost to develop a treatment plan accommodating your obligations where possible.

Can I detox at home?

We assess each client admitted to this program to see if requirements are met to ensure a safe transition at home. Depending on the substance and other factors, we decide together with each client if the detox can be implemented, at home, or if hospitalization is recommended. This would normally take 24-72 hours.

Is my family involved in treatment?

Family dynamics frequently play a vital role in both addiction and recovering from it. Unlike any other, this program can include and support loved ones were conducive to both their and the client’s well-being via one-on-one counseling and family therapy.

What happens when I finish treatment?

One benefit of receiving treatment at home is a much softer transition upon completion. Recovery was initiated amidst day-to-day life, allowing each client to build a strong foundation where it matters most as part of the treatment process. This prevents a client from having to translate and apply changes made elsewhere (rehab) with little support. 24/7 In-Home treatment differs in that it blends primary and secondary care.

Also, we offer a 24/7 recovery hotline via phone, Skype, and social media to support and guide both the client and those closely involved. This has proven a vital component of our clients’ success in achieving lasting recovery.

Does 24/7 In-Home treatment include Sober Transport?

Yes, Sober Transport, meaning an addiction specialist will accompany a client to or from an inpatient rehab center, can be arranged and is covered by our 24/7 In-Home services. Depending on the client’s location, an overnight stay may be required.

What are the benefits of receiving inpatient treatment?

Reaching a place where you are no longer dependent upon a substance or compulsive behavior amidst an environment dominated (and “tainted”) by addictive behavior has proven to be most difficult, if not impossible, for many. A rehab facility offers a unique setting without access to drugs or alcohol in which clients are safe and can fully engage in their recovery process without any distractions. When a medical detox is required, Inpatient treatment allows you to rid your body of toxins and rebalance its chemistry safely under the guidance of an experienced medical team.

What kind of addictions do you treat at your inpatient rehab centers?

We treat a wide range of both substance and process addiction (compulsive behaviors) including gambling, sex and eating disorders. When diagnosed, co-occurring disorders such as depression, anxiety disorders and ADD need and will be treated, at the same time.

How is addiction treated?

Our rehab centers implement a modern, evidence-based, holistic treatment program enhanced by complementary therapy. Treatment includes the proven 12 steps method which is offered and presented in modern-day language to suit our international clientele and their various, cultural and religious backgrounds. How long does treatment take?

We offer treatment programs lasting 28, 60 or 90 days. However, each program and its duration can be tailored, to your therapeutic and personal needs.

When in rehab, will I have my room?

Yes, both our rehab in Thailand and Malaysia offer private, spacious guest rooms fitted with modern amenities. Also, our rehab in Malaysia offers clients the option to reside in a twin sharing room or to share a room with four other clients (quad share). Choices made between these options do influence the treatment fee.

Does treatment involve detox?

A comprehensive medical examination upon your arrival will determine if a medically supervised detox is required. Together with each client, we will discuss the options available. Our rehabs have partnered with premier hospitals specialized in employing a detoxification process among the world’s best in case hospitalization is advisable before entering our inpatient treatment program.

Does inpatient treatment include extracurricular activities?

Redefining the relationship you have with life itself through fun activities is an essential part of our innovative and comprehensive treatment model. Our rehabs offer an array of professionally managed and supervised weekly excursions to help our clients rediscover life.

Do I have access to a phone and/or internet when in treatment?

Both phone and internet are available at scheduled times. Job requirements or urgencies, however, may allow a more flexible timetable. Exceptions in phone/internet use need to be discussed, with your counselor.

Can you accommodate special dietary requirements?

Yes, we can cater to a client’s dietary needs including food allergies, religious restrictions, and vegan/ vegetarian.

Can my family come to visit me when in treatment?

Both our inpatient facility in Thailand and Malaysia encourage family members to participate in a family program developed and provided for by each rehab. Visits outside of this program are possible but need to be discussed, with your counselor.

How does payment work?

We require a 25% deposit for all reservations to secure treatment at one of our rehab facilities. Full payment is due upon arrival.

Is my privacy ensured?

Our Signature program caters to a clientele including CEO’s, politicians, celebrities and nobility to who complete privacy and utmost confidentiality are paramount. To maintain absolute secrecy, a tailor-made treatment plan is provided for, one-on-one, at a secluded, luxurious residence. No shared facilities or group sessions. When required, we can assign a pseudonym to ensure a client’s identity is never revealed. Any inquiries from the press are declined, at all times.

Can I attend to my professional obligations during treatment?

We understand that many of our clients cannot be absent for a prolonged period without having to attend to, at least in part, their social and professional duties. In agreement with the clinical team, we can accommodate the personal needs of each client by developing a treatment schedule that allows such activities. We do however caution our clients not to be overly distracted and prioritize their recovery and wellbeing whilst receiving treatment.

What services does the Signature program provide?

As Asia’s most exclusive rehab service, our Signature program, apart from daily, multiple one-on-one treatment sessions in the privacy of your luxury residence, includes the following services:

Whilst in treatment, you’ll have access to the highest level of medical support and Thailand’s top detox specialist will be available 24/7. Extracurricular activities other than presented on “excursions” can be arranged at your request.

Can I bring individuals closely involved such as family/entourage?

Yes. However, except personal attendants and/or security person, they will not be staying at the same residence. Together with your clinical team, visiting hours can be scheduled, in agreement with your personalized treatment plan. An additional request involving individuals other than the client may incur costs not related to the treatment of addiction. These can be identified, and we can provide a separate cost estimate prior to your arrival.

Can I stay at a resort or hotel during treatment?

Yes, we offer our clients the option to receive their treatment at a private residence located in a secluded part of a renowned, world-class resort. At a client’s request, additional accommodation options such as a hotel suite are available and can be arranged. Note, however, that the requirements for any private residence/hotel suite include a minimum of 3 bedrooms to accommodate live-in support staff.

Is there a waiting period?

Our Signature service treats only one client at a time in complete privacy. As such, there may be times when we are unable to admit a client at short notice. However, we seldom are unable to accommodate a client in two weeks or less.

How long does a Signature program take?

We recommend our clients to allow a minimum of two to six weeks of inpatient, one-on-one treatment.

How do you treat a substance dependency and/or mental health problems?

We aim to treat and heal each as a whole – body, mind, and spirit. Each treatment pathway is holistic in its approach and comprised of evidence-based therapies enhanced with complementary therapies to ensure an all-round recovery experience. We will help you understand the underlying causes driving you to misuse a substance and give you the tools to live a more fulfilling life free from drugs or compulsive behavior.

What are the costs?

A significant amount of the fees involved in our Signature program are committed to the luxurious infrastructure and five-star level service. As such, fees vary depending on each client’s personal preference in luxury accommodation, additional requests not related to treatment and the length treatment is provided for. When needed, can I detox at my residence?

Upon arrival, Thailand’s top detox specialist will carefully assess the influencing factors such as the nature and intake of the substance(s) abused to determine requirements and length of a client’s detoxification process. Together with the client and clinical team, he will decide how best to manage the detox-process to ensure a safe transition as comfortable as possible. Often, the detox can be done at your private residence, supervised by our experienced medical team and in the presence of a live-in nurse, available at all times.  When the potential consequences induced by the withdrawal require 24-hour medical support and assistance, the detox will be done at our partner, specialized addiction hospital.

Traveling to one of our rehabs located in Asia will be less costly compared to a similar treatment program and facility located in a western country. Our rates are roughly half or even less if you choose our option to share a room during treatment.

Are your rehabs easily accessible?

Yes, both the city of Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand and Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Malaysia’s Sabah state in Northwestern Borneo, have international airports. There are multiple direct international flights to our locations and many more via either Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur, depending on your destination.

Will you assist in making my travel arrangements?

Yes, feel free to inform us if you need any assistance in getting to one of our private rehab facilities. We can help with your travel arrangements, visas and other aspects concerning your travels.

Are any travel expenses included in the cost of treatment?

No, additional expenses outside of our rehab facility and treatment program concerning your travels such as airline tickets, are not included in our fees.

Will I be picked up from the airport?

Yes, upon your arrival in Chiang Mai or Kota Kinabalu, one of our staff members will be greeting you at the airport, help collect your baggage and privately transport you to the secluded location of our rehab facility roughly thirty minutes from either city.

Do I need a visa to enter Thailand or Malaysia?

Both countries grant visa-free entry to most nationalities for a period up to 30 (Thailand) or even 90 days (Malaysia). If you have chosen to receive treatment in Thailand and wish to attain a visa validity exceeding 30 days, we can assist you in applying for a visa before leaving your home country or help extend your visa in Chiang Mai. How does payment work?

To secure your place at one of our private rehab facilities or on-location treatment program, a 25% deposit is required for all reservations. Full payment must be made, before arrival.

All of our inpatient treatment programs are inclusive of accommodation, all meals, individual and group counseling sessions, fitness and massage therapy, mindfulness therapy, excursions, family programs and aftercare coaching.

What is the cost of treatment?

The cost of treatment varies. Several factors such as the program, rehab, and accommodation choice will influence the fee involved. Please do contact us directly to discuss the options available and get a quotation.

Can I use insurance for addiction treatment?

If your insurance policy covers mental health related illnesses such as substance abuse, anxiety disorders, depression and ADHD, your insurance provider may provide coverage via direct billing or reimbursement. It is recommended that you contact your preferred provider directly to discuss what exactly your policy covers and to what amount. We work with most major worldwide insurers and can assist you at all stages of your insurance claim.

What is your refund policy?

Sensum offers a pro-rata refund policy should a client choose to leave treatment within seven days of arrival. The 25% deposit, however, is non-refundable.

Note that Sensum reserves the right to discharge a client if found intoxicated or in possession of alcohol and/or illicit substances or when disrupting the program or other peoples treatment.

What happens if I cancel my treatment?

If a client cancels their reservation, a refund of the 25% deposit will not be given. This is because both our inpatient treatment program and one-on-one, on-location addiction treatment programs, are heavily subscribed, and our commitment to every reservation made prevents us from accepting clients in need of treatment at home or at our rehab center.
